Random video clips

Here are some random video clips. One of the clips is of Sam crawling. He is 10x better now at it but this the only one we have of him crawling. The first three video clips are recent and the last is a fun one I came across recently and just had to share.

In honor of Samuel's 1st birthday, I wrote him a poem...

Sam's Poem

Born premature, my baby, so tiny and so pure,
You came into this world so fast, everything was a blur.
All odds were against you, your chances were very slim,
When you unexpectedly took your first breath, things didn’t look so grim.
You were laid on my chest for a second or two,
Is he going to be okay? What will happen to him? Will he pull through?
We found that your journey would be long and very hard,
We placed you in the Lord’s hands and prayed that life was in your cards.

You had support every step of the way,
You were in our thoughts and prayers constantly every day.
Many worries, many fears.
Many days and nights of tears.
With your will to live, you continued to amaze all,
Through all of the setbacks and all of the close calls.
Will he see? Will he hear? Will he lead a normal life?
Miracles never ceased and you continued to put up a fight.

After 104 days, you finally came home, another miracle within,
The same gift was given to us a second time, only now in better condition.
A year has passed since you were born, each day has been full of grace,
You continue to grow, develop and progress at your own pace.
Your name means, “God hear us”, something that we know to be true,
You were meant to be here, you were meant to be ours, we thank God every day for you.

We love you Samuel. Happy 1st Birthday!

Happy Father's Day!

I made a slideshow for Morgan for Father's Day. I hope you enjoy! I love you Morgan! Thank you for being an amazing husband and father. I wouldn't have life any other way than to spend the rest of eternity with you.

What Samuel has been up to.... besides turning 1!

Samuel's 12 month Stats

Head circumference:17.5 in.
Weight: 17 lbs 13.5 oz
Height: 27.75 in.

Samuel just started officially crawling last Tuesday, June 12th, 2012. He has been a lot happier since then. He plays a lot more and interacts a lot more and laughs more. He is eating solids 3 times a day and still drinking formula/breast milk. He still doesn't like to drink anything besides formula/breast milk so we're still working on that. Noel plays a lot with Sam and tries to be his mom and he just puts up with it. They play a lot together. Noel is such a good big sister.

A gazillion pictures from a wonderful weekend

Last Thursday my parents came into town. They said they were going to be here Thursday night but surprised us Thursday morning. What a wonderful surprise! We sure enjoyed the time that we spent with them here. After they got into town they took us all to lunch. Friday morning my parents took Sam and Noel for a walk to the park. Later on in the day my dad and Mikey watched our kids while my mom, Kareena and I went shopping. That was a blast! That night we had a yummy salmon dinner that my parents made. Saturday morning Grandpa set up Noel's new slippin' slide they Grandma and Grandpa bought for her and they both played and played. Later, we went up to our family cabin up in Provo Canyon and went hiking, fishing, and celebrated Sam's and my brother Chris's birthdays. Sunday we all went to church together and my parents left after Sacrament Meeting to go see my brother Mikey speak in church as well as sing. They left after that to go home. It was a quick visit but we enjoyed every minute that they spent here. Each night we also played games. That was one of my favorite parts of the visit.

Grandpa and Noel after exercising. They were tired.

She also played in her pool.

Sam touching the water.

Grandma had just left Sam briefly and he wasn't too happy.
Here are the pics from Saturday afternoon at the cabin. Mikey weed whacked around the cabin. Please note his amazing yellow extension cord belt. Love it!
Sam sitting up and playing with some toys.
He was sure getting around well. He crawled up a little step into the other room. He's almost to crawling all the time!
Me making the cake. It was a NICU monitor screen with a fun lifeline design.

On our walk I took a lot of pictures.

Grandpa fishin'.

Kareena caught the first fish!

Noel holding the worms.
Chris and Kareena. Such a cute couple.
Grandpa caught a fish!

Grandma fishin'. She caught a fish as well but I wasn't around to take a picture.

Chris of course caught a fish... and then some. He's the fish whisperer.

My buddy and I.
Morgan came up a few hours after we went up. He's got finals this week that he's been preparing for.

There is a pasture off of the same road as the cabin and we went to feed the horses.
They were very friendly.
Noel was brave and fed one of the horses.

Sam's birthday party. I can't believe he is 1!
Morgan let him have at the cake. I think he liked it.

Messy boy.
We then used the same cake to sing to Chris for his birthday that is coming up this weekend. My parents wanted to celebrate it while they were here.
Thank you mom and dad for coming here to visit. We had such a great time with you guys here. We wish it could've been longer. WE LOVE YOU!!!
