CONFERENCE WEEKEND

Morgan and I had the priviledge of going to Utah this weekend with my mom and dad. We left for Utah on Thursday around 2pm, stopped in Reno to visit Leslie and Jason and family, and continued on until we arrived at the cabin around 4am friday morning. Chris, who is going to BYU in Provo, came up to the cabin and Mikey came down from BYU-Idaho with Chris's girlfiend Marianne. We all went to the Saturday morning session of General Conference. It was so wonderful. We had a wonderful weekend and a great visit with family and friends. The colors up the canyon were beautiful as you can see. We left for home on Sunday around 2pm arrived just after midnight. Another memory to add to our lives here on this earth.

The Saturday morning session of conference.

We were a little bored in car on the way home.

The Bread Fee-asco

The bible says, "man shall not live by bread alone" but with this loaf man sure could...and woman for that matter. (We doubled our french bread recipe to accomodate the amount of people we needed to feed without thinking of making two separate loaves:))

The Surprise Vacation to Reno to see thee one and only...Bill Cosby!

Morgan took me to Reno this past weekend for my birthday! He had been planning this "Surprise Vacation" for a few months and I had no idea where we were going. On our way to "Where-everland" He let me guess until I got it. It didn't take long and he pulled out two tickets to see Bill Cosby at the Silver Legacy Hotel in Reno. We had a great weekend.

We arrived in Reno around 8:30pm and we realized that the city is very ALIVE at night. We made sure to lock the car doors and we tried hard to focus on the road and the car ahead of us instead of all the blinking and flashing lights. We stayed in the Peppermill Hotel just outside Babylon... I mean, downtown Reno. We were not used to the smoke and the Casino feel and we were grateful to be on the 7th floor away from it all. We watched part of "Horton Hears a Who" (the greatest movie in the entire world) and went to sleep.

The next day we went window shopping and we're proud to say we didn't spend any money! Later that night we got ready and went to see Bill Cosby. It was really wierd to see him in person! There were a few times where his jokes were a little off color but overall it was a great experience. You can tell he is running out of steam but we still burnt quite a few calories from laughing.

On sunday we went to church with Leslie and Jason and the kids and had dinner with them that evening. It was a very good visit and the food was wonderful! Jason cooked some Chinese food that was AMAZING! Overall it was a wonderful birthday weekend thanks to my wonderful husband who put a lot of thought and effort into making it so. I love him so much...

Window shopping day!

He is getting old!

We got lost in the Casino with all the crazy lights and mirrors. It was scary. It felt like the lobby of the Great and Spacious Building.

Wright's Lake & Union Valley Camping Trip

August 22nd Morgan and I went camping with my parents, and Chris and his girlfriend Marianne for a night. It was so much fun. When we first got there on Friday we set up camp and then walked to Wrights Lake to go fishing. Morgan fished for a little while without any luck. Chris and Marianne finished with the kayaks (which were borrowed from some family friends, thanks Mark and Audrey!) and brought them over to us. For the next couple hours Morgan and I went kayaking for the first time ever. We went down this beautiful river. The water was so still that the relections on the water looked so real. Morgan, Chris and my dad went fishing later that evening without any luck, again. The following day we packed up camp and went to Union Valley where we went jet skiing (in which the jet skis were borrowed from some other family friends, thanks Cal and Debora!). It was sooooo much fun!

This is a picture of one of those beautiful reflections.
