Family Vacation

We recently returned home from a family vacation in Green River, UT. It was so much fun! Our days were filled with sight seeing and hikes. On Friday we went to Arches National Park and went on a few hikes there and stopped many times to see the beautiful sights. We then went to Canyonlands as well which I think is so much prettier than the Grand Canyon. Saturday we went to a place called Black Dragon Wash, a hike that a lot of people don't seem to know about. There we hiked between two steep red canyon walls up a dry river bed to find the ancient Indian pictographs and petroglyphs. We then went to a place called Sego Canyon to see more ancient Indian art on big rock walls and an old ghost town with cool ruins. Sunday we went to Church and then packed up camp and went to see a few more things. We went to a place called Fossil Point where dinosaur bones supposedly are quite common. We didn't see any so on the way back to the car, in the blazing heat, I picked up a random rock to tell Morgan I found some "dinosaur poop" just to be silly. We got in the car and I was really looking at it and it really looks like a fossil!! It's pretty cool! To end the vacation we then went to Goblin Valley State Park. Part of the movie Galaxy Quest with Tim Allen was filmed there. It definitely looks like you are on another world when you are there. We definitely enjoyed our time, seeing the many different beautiful things and places that God has created. I am grateful for the time that we were able to spend as a family making a lot of awesome fun memories.

Enjoy the slideshow! For some reason you can't make it bigger. I will try to figure that out.

Everyday there were thunderstorms that were near and far but yet we were never rained on. BUT...I finally have a picture of lightening! It is a little faded but I got it! I just had to share!

Changing it up

This last weekend we moved the kids into the same room and made Noel's old room into the Play Room. We love it! They love it! It's their room to read, learn, play and create.

This is a picture I took tonight of Morgan with the kids. It was story time. I love the smiles.
Sam just kept smiling so I had to put this one on here as well. He is such a ham!
This is what their room looks like. They sleep well together in the same room.

Family Reunions

We recently returned home from a fabulous Keddington family reunion on my mom's side of the family and our family stuck around after for a few days so we could have a Watkins Family Reunion. It took place at a cabin in Pine Valley, Utah which has significance in an of itself. My mother's grandfather, Elvis Terry, met his wife, Laura Terry, at the age of 13 in Pine Valley, Utah. My Great Grandfather, grew up in Enterprise, UT which is near Pine Valley.

We had a blast riding quads, playing grass volleyball, watching lightening storms, driving to historically significant places, watching the children (and Ben and Chris) play on the blow up slide, watching the children play on the zip line, we had a talent show, played games, etc.

Here is picture of Morgan with Sam on the quad.
Noel on the quad with Morgan and Charlie.
We went to the Terry Family Monument (my mom's mother's maiden name) in Enterprise, UT.

We also went to a cemetery where my Great Great Great Grandfather, Thomas Searls Terry is buried along with many other Terry's. Sam is touching my Great Great Great Grandfathers headstone.

This is where my Great Grandfather, my mom's Grandfather grew up.
My mom's mother's maiden name, Terry is where I get my name from. My parents just wanted to spell it differently.
This is one of the three homes on the ranch my Great Grandfather could've been born in.
We saw a funnel cloud in the distance when in Enterprise, UT.
We went on a couple hikes to historical landmarks. Here is a picture of Noel and her cousin Charlie.
 Noel being cute and silly.

After the Keddington Family Reunion finished, we had a Watkins Family Reunion. We went to the Johnson Farm in St. George which has a museum that contains real dinosaur tracks. It was very cool!

Here is a painting of my Grandma, my mom's mother while in her youth.
We drove through a place called Snow Canyon. Red rocks, with white lines through some of them and lava rocks scattered all throughout. It was beautiful. There are a few extinct volcanoes near Snow Canyon. We drove past them. It was pretty cool.

My grandma took up Archery while at the reunion. :)
 Noel singing into a hose.
Noel and her cousins. These kids grew very close while on this trip.
HEAR NO EVIL. SEE NO EVIL. SPEAK NO EVIL.
We had some fun thunderstorms while we were in Pine Valley. This one in particular had heavy, drenching rain.
 Sam with his cousin Maddy.
Noel and her bud, Maddy. Noel came up with these funny faces on her own.
 Love this.
 Lovin' this too!

So I forgot to mention. The day we arrived in Pine Valley, Morgan took me for a ride on a quad. Little did we know, this particular quad's parking brake didn't work very well and within a couple hours after we got off of it, we were told to come take a look at our car and the quad had rolled down the hill into the back of our car. Not good.
The entire family after church. The only person we were missing was Leslie's hubby Jason. He couldn't make it because of work.
Our family picture. Sam was OUT!
 4 generation picture.
After the reunions in Pine Valley, my parents and Leslie and her kids came up to Provo where they stayed a couple of nights at the Watkins Family cabin. We did some target shooting with a bee bee gun and a pellet gun. It was fun! Some also went fishing and on a little walk to see some horses nearby. We celebrated Morgan and Kareena's birthdays.
Sam biffed it face planted in the dirt. He didn't cry at all but was just spitting a lot to get the pine needles and dirt out of his mouth.

Noel caught a fish and didn't mind holding it.
She even stood in the freezing cold creek water while Chris was gutting the fish. Ewwwww!
Yummy birthday cake! Happy Birthday to Morgan...
 ...and Kareena!
Had to get some pictures in front of the cabin before we went our separate ways.
