Morgan and I had been wanting to get away for so long and finally last weekend, we got home from work, got online and quickly decided without second thoughts, that we were going to Angels Camp and made a reservation at the Best Western there. Without knowing much of what else we were going to do we left. Our 1.5 hr drive there was beautiful. The sun was setting as we traveled. After we arrived we had the plan of going to Calavares Big Trees in the morning and then to one of the few caverns that they have around that area.

In the morning we traveled to Calavares Big Trees. There, we hiked the North Grove Trail in the snow. It took about 1 hr & 10 minutes or so. It was so pretty. It was a new experience to see everything in the snow.

Remember the book "Where's Waldo?"...Where's Morgan?

The trail was so pretty.

At one point we went off the trail and I was walking up a snowy hillside to a big tree (they were everywhere, let me tell ya) and then all of a sudden I fell through the snow and I was about upper thigh deep in snow. It was pretty funny. The picture below is me getting the snow out of my socks and shoes. Morgan had to do that a few times too. We'd be walking the trail and then "Whoosh" he'd sink into the snow a few feet or so. We had so much fun. Lots of laughing.

The only time you'll see Morgan as a treehugger.

My cute lil' hubby.

I love making snow angels!

M.Y. stands for Morgan Young in case you were wondering :)-
