Well, we bought our first home here in Spanish Fork, just 7-10 miles southeast of where we used to live! We are homeowners now! We officially own 5% of our home! Wahoo! We are living the American Dream and are in debt up to our eyeballs!!! Ha. We love our new home. It's an adjustment in many ways, but we love the space and it's fun making it our own.
This is the day we got our keys...
Opening the door to our home for the first time:)
Eating dinner in our home for the first time.
The next day was move day. This is the only picture I took of the moving process. We had SO MANY people helping us, it was amazing. We are so grateful for all of the help we received from neighbors and friends and family.
While we were "moving in" that day, the kids enjoyed playing in our new backyard in our lil' kiddie pool.
Celebrating a lil' with some sparkling cider.
This is how we eat our dinner around here:) I sure love our Sam.
One of our first mornings in our new home.
My parents took a trip out here to help with the painting that needed to be done in our new home. They were a HUGE help and made moving in far less stressful than it would've been! The kids often played in the back in the water throughout that first week.
My mom starting on the ceiling in Noel's room.
The "BEFORE" picture of Noel's room.
The "BEFORE" picture of Samuel's room.
Another before pic of Sam's room. This light beige on the walls, trim and ceiling is pretty much what was the case throughout the entire house. While my parents were here we did a lot the ceiling, trim and doors/closets throughout the house, in white.
Sam and Noel helping with the painting.
More painting fun for the kids.
My parents are so amazing.
All of the doors and closet doors were sprayed in the garage with the paint gun sprayer. It was a HUGE project but they look so good!
The "AFTER" picture of Noel's room.
The "AFTER" picture of Samuel's room.
Another "AFTER" pic of his room.
More water fun.
Morgan doing the second coat of white on the ceiling in our front room and kitchen. My parents did the first coat and my mom did the second coat with Morgan. It turned out awesome!
Me helping my dad with the doors in the garage.
Sam's bed. The colors matched perfectly!
Noel's bed matched perfectly as well! They both love their beds a lot!
We celebrated Samuel's 4th birthday while family was in town. He loves "Cars" the movie and "Lightning McQueen" especially so I found a picture online of Lightning McQueen and recreated it with his cake.
He loved it!
Love him:)
Blowing out the candles.
Grandma and Grandpa Young were able to also be their on Skype:)
Chris, Kareena, Libby and Ty and my parents were able to be there with us. It was so nice to have this time during such a stressful and chaotic time of painting and moving in.
My parents had sparklers for the kiddos. We did those in the backyard after.
Some mornings that are not too windy or not too hot, the kids go outside in the back and play. The previous owners left this play set and the kids love to play on it sometimes. I love this picture of Noel. She's just enjoying the sun on her face while she is relaxing on the swing set. This moment was a good moment. Amongst the stress and chaos I felt peace when I saw Noel outside enjoying life and just taking it in. We are in the right place. We are supposed to be here in this home. Even if it is hard to adjust.
Grandma and Grandpa Young sent Noel and Sam gifts for Sam's birthday and Noel's preschool graduation. They loved their gifts! Thank you so much Grandma and Grandpa Young!
We finally got a dining room table set. We love it!
It's been getting up there temperature wise here lately. We've had upper 90's and this week we will be getting up to 104 3 or 4 days in a row!! We are grateful to have a splash pad nearby. The kids had a blast when we went there last week.
On the way home from the splash pad we passed a motorcyclist who had a stuffed monkey of some sort strapped to the back of his motorcycle. There were shoes on it and everything. You can kind of see it in this picture. It made the kids and I laugh.
The kids have been troopers. We have had to run many errands to get things for the house. On this particular day we were out for 7 hours or so. Here we are at Ikea to get Sam a dresser.
Sam was running really low on summer clothes so we went shopping for him. This is one of the shirts we got him.
Our kiddos have grown really close during this time.
The other morning Morgan took the kids out to fly Noel's kite. It's kind of nice, being here in Spanish Fork, we can pretty much count on the wind every night from 10pm to the following day around 10am. It's so nice, at least right now in the summer, it cools the nights off at least a little bit. We will see how our first winter here goes with this wind though:/ I ABSOLUTELY LOVE OUR VIEWS HERE OF THE MOUNTAINS. This picture was taken from Samuel's bedroom window.
The kids and I got Morgan a Chocolate Cake from Costco the day before Father's Day (he loves chocolate cake!)
This last Saturday we spent most of the day under our house in our crawl space with our food storage. Morgan did most of the work, I just brought him all of the stuff for him to organize (he is crazy good at organizing). The kids helped a TON as well, they were a delight!
This is after Morgan was pretty much done organizing. He even made aisles. Eventually we'd like to get more shelving just like this and make more aisles as we grow our food storage.
Well, we did it. We moved. It happened so fast. It was all a blur. We feel very blessed to have found such an amazing home. We are so grateful for the time we had with Chris and Kareena for 3 1/2 years. We miss them terribly. We are glad that we aren't too far away. A 15 minute drive solves that problem, but it's just not as convenient as it used to be, where we'd walk out our door and see their smiling faces and visit and play often.
