Morgan's Birthday Surprise

First things first. Goofy Sam squishing his face in the closet doors.
Sam was on time out on the stairs and ended up falling asleep.
After church a couple Sunday's ago, we were all snuggling in our bed and I tried to take a picture of Morgan and Sam but Sam kept putting his arms in front of Morgan's face so he wouldn't be in the picture. He is such a silly kid.

Here is a drawing Sam drew of himself.
We got the kiddos new bikes. We've done some evening and morning rides with them. They love it!

We went to playgroup at a new man made reservoir called Bartholomew Park in Springville. The water was chilly but that didn't stop the kids from playing in it.
 Macho Sam.
A while back we did Young Family Theatre (originating from my parents tradition when I was a kid, "Watkins Family Theatre"). We did the whole tickets at the front door and tickets for candy and all that. It was fun. We all watched "Hook".
The kids did the Spanish Fork Fish Rodeo about a week ago or so. It was the coolest thing we've done here in Spanish Fork thus far. The kids were able to each catch 2 trout, either with their hands, nets or gallon size plastic bags. It was so fun.

There they are! All 4 trout! One of the kids caught the winning Brook Trout and got $5 so we split the money between the kids.
 Their "Fish Rodeo Winner" bag!
We've recently put together the house a little more. Ever since seeing this plate decor idea on Pinterest I've been collecting plates and I finally got to put them up.
Noel and Sam went to a preschool Summer/Science Camp at Noel's old preschool teachers home. The theme was the "Circus". They had a blast.

We finally put our "Family" Collage type frame up. We love it!
Morgan and I finished the painting in the downstairs family room and in his office FINALLY. We started last Monday prepping and such and finished late Thursday night. Morgan really wanted to start this project last week and I told him that we needed to be finished by Thursday night and that I wasn't working beyond that point. Little did he know that it was because his parents were coming on Friday to stay with us and to surprise him for his birthday!
The kids were patient and having fun with my phone taking selfies while I was painting, for 9 hours a day, 2 days in a row!!! But I'm not bitter....:-) I really am not because it's done and looks so much better!
Noel must have taken a picture of me painting.
So, Friday around 12:30pm, Morgan came home and was very surprised to find his parents car in the garage! I had told him that he needed to get half of a day off at work so that I could take him and the kids out for a surprise for his birthday. He was very surprised that the surprise was his parents coming into town instead and he was sooooo happy and excited!!

The kids had fun making crafts with Grandma...
...and reading some new books she gave them.
Gary and Morgan did manly stuff and put together Morgan's desk for his office.
Sam was proud of an airplane he made with Grandma.
Morgan's excited about his desk and that his office is finally coming together.
Sam and Grandpa playing in Sam's room. Sam liked throwing his stuffed animals around in his room with Grandpa.
Noel and Grandma made craft stick dolls and even a bed for them. So fun.
Morgan and Gary bbq'd some tri-tip that evening. It was a DELICIOUS dinner!
In spite of Pioneer Day that we celebrate here in Utah, we got some fireworks and set some off that evening as well.

After we finished our fireworks we enjoyed sitting and watching the huge fireworks everyone else was setting off in the surrounding areas. It was so cool!
On Saturday, Morgan and Gary added 3 more much needed shelves into our pantry. Thanks to Gary for bringing his nail gun, they were able to put those up in a jiffy. Now we just need to finish caulking and paint a lil' in there and I'll have my pantry finally to organize!
Grandma and the kiddos tie-dyed some shirts.

Saturday evening Mary and Gary treated us to Tucano's Brazilian Grill for Morgan's birthday. It was delicious and very filling as always.
Sam wrapping himself in one of the napkins and being a goofball as usual.
That evening we came home and sang to Morgan for his birthday. I made him his favorite pie, French Silk Chocolate Pie. I had Noel take pictures... hence the blurriness.
His parents brought him a pinata!
Noel taking a whack at the pinata in her cute lil' princess outfit.
Sam with perfect batting stance swinging at the pinata.
And then Morgan was able to swing at it a few times until it fell off the string and then he was whacking it like a crazy man!
Ha! My hubby is so handsome and he is amazing in every way. He never seizes to make me laugh. Happy 30th Birthday Morgan! You are wonderful and I am grateful you were born and that I get to spend eternity with you!
