Well time has sure been flying. We've been very busy but enjoying life. Here are pictures from the month of March through General Conference Weekend.
Usually Evelyn wakes up happy in the mornings and I sure love going in her room to get her because even if I have to wake her up so we can take the kids to school, she still smiles up at me, like in this picture.
Noel wants to be a Veterinarian when she gets older so on Career Day she dressed up like one. She's the cutest little veterinarian!
We got some more snow!!
The parking lot at Noel's school was so deep!
The kiddos playing in the snow in our backyard.
I love when the sun comes out after it snows!
It was Western Day at Noel's school. She was the cutest little cowgirl!
Celebrating Dr. Seuss Week!
It was Whoville Hair Day at Noel's school during Dr. Seuss week so I put bouncy balls in Noel's hair. It turned out really cute.
Lil' Evelyn.
Building Birdhouse Rain Gauges at Home Depot.
Noel got really sick. She came home early from school on a Tuesday or Wednesday (I can't quite remember) with a fever and complaining of a headache, eye ache as well as a tummy ache. All of those symptoms seemed so odd and I was so worried about her so I took her to the doctors. After blood tests and throat swabs, strep throat, anything bacterial and even appendicitis was ruled out. So the doctor said he believed it was a very bad virus. Poor thing, she felt so sick at the doctor's office and was so nauseous.
She had a fever for 4 days and at times it was up to almost 104 degrees. Her tummy was upset and she didn't eat anything for 4 days. Even though she only threw up 2 times she still was showing symptoms of dehydration. She became lethargic, incredibly weak, and wasn't urinating at all even though she was drinking water and was able to keep it down (after the first day of throwing up twice). It was the weirdest virus! It was like the stomach flu along with cold and regular flu symptoms: tummy aches along with headaches, eye aches and fever and chills AND THEN after the first 2 or 3 days her nose got INSANELY stuffy to where she couldn't smell or breathe very well at all.
After speaking with her doctor on the phone about how her symptoms were getting much worse and how she was extremely dehydrated, he said we needed to take her to the ER to receive IV fluids until her symptoms improved.
Morgan took her to the ER where they gave her IV fluids and ran some more tests. She was there for only 4 hours luckily. The results still showed that was most likely a bad virus.
Noel's teacher from school left Noel a note along with candy and a little stuffed animal on our front porch. She is the sweetest teacher. It sure cheered Noel up. She snuggled with that little bunny for the next few days.
Finally feeling better.
We went on a walk on Sunday thinking Noel was well enough to do so. Poor thing was still very weak. Her pants were also falling down because she had lost 4 pounds while being sick!
Morgan finished working for the company he worked for for the last 2 and a half years. He left by choice. He started working at another company in Lindon as a Developer. He loves working there. He received this "Smiling through the pain award" from his previous workplace, which was very fitting considering all of the challenges that occurred while he worked there.
Noel started another season of Girls Soccer. She was only able to attend 2 soccer practices out of 4 because she was so sick during the others. Sam liked running up and down the hill at Noel's soccer practice.
Noel is in the orange shirt in the middle of the picture.
Enjoying the weather in the front yard...
...while Sam drew with chalk.
He is beginning to learn how to read and spell. These are words that I asked him to spell out for me. I'm so impressed with him.
Sam made this leprachaun trap at preschool for St. Patrick's day. He created this all by himself.
Morgan set up the trampoline for the kids. The weather was finally warmer for the most part.
Noel was being silly by putting her legs through the arms of her jacket.
Love our kiddos.
We surprised the kids by going to Cal Ranch and IFA to purchase chicks. They were so excited!
We got 8 chicks total. 4 different kinds. 2 of each kind. Rhode Island Reds, Golden Sex Links, Ameraucanas, and Barred Rocks. We are excited to start getting some eggs from them eventually!
We set up the brooder in our laundry area near the opening of our crawl space.
They were so tiny. And too cute.
Trampoline fun.
Morgan starting to take out a stump in our yard to make way for our vegetable garden!
Noel's soccer games are sometimes kind of cold, hence the blanket around silly Sam.
Evelyn enjoying her bath time.
The weather has been beautiful for the most part. Sam and I have enjoyed a walk here and there.
Spraying the layout of our backyard plans. A new patio and fire pit, garden area, shed area, flower beds and chicken coop. We are excited to finally utilize the space in our backyard!
One of the first steps of our backyard projects was to cut sod. Morgan was out there all afternoon and evening in the rain cutting sod. It was very wet and muddy.
Because it was raining, the sod was so wet and heavy. He was so tired!
Funny story during Sacrament Meeting at Church one Sunday:
Sam finishes drawing a picture (see picture below) and while holding it up to show Morgan he said, "Look at the picture I drew!" Morgan said, "Oh, is that a dinosaur?" Then I hear Sam say, "No, it's mommy." Hahaha!
Getting bigger!
We attended Noel's First Grade Class Community Helpers Program. She had a solo singing part in it and sang very well. We were so proud of her.
For General Conference my parents came into town as well as my sister Leslie and her family. We hung out a lot at my sister Emilie's home. The kids got in some good cousin time. I love this picture of Sam between his cousins Myles and Adam.
Cousin Charlie holding Evelyn.
Noel drew this amazing picture while watching conference. When I asked her about it she told me it's a picture of Jesus with the Angel Moroni with a trumpet (like at the top of the temples) behind Him. Jesus is coming down from heaven, walking through a door and down some steps. You can also see the sun and the earth in the picture. She even drew the nail prints in His hands.
The chicks getting some outside time with the kids. They sure love holding them.
My sister Leslie with Evelyn.
Grandma always has some fun things planned for all the grand kids. They made rice krispie treat nests and filled them with candy.
More cousin fun.
Adam and Maddy spent the night at our house one of the nights. They had so much fun.
