Pismo Beach and Easter

For Spring Break we met up with Morgan's parents and Brian and Tobias at Pismo Beach in CA. We all stayed at a Vacation Rental a block or 2 away from the beach. We were there 3 nights and had a blast!

We left at midnight Sunday night/Monday morning so we wouldn't have to stop as much, hoping Evelyn would sleep through the night. She actually did great through the night and we got there just after lunch time on Monday. It ended up taking us 13.5 hours to get there.
The wildflower bloom was beautiful.

When we got there first thing we did was go to the beach.

We took a detour to walk back to the rental and found a shop that sold chocolate covered crickets and worms. Yum!!
View from the roof top of the rental. It was beautiful!
We ran an errand to get a few things at Walmart and found this!

We went to the tidepools and saw a seal and her baby in the water.

Gorgeous view.

Sam and Grandma.

Grandma with Noel and Sam.
We went to Doc Burnstein's Ice Cream Lab. The ice cream was so good!
Evelyn slept in the closet in her portacrib and woke up pretty darn happy one morning. It was too cute:)
Zoomed in.
Play time at the beach.

There was a man who brought his goats to the beach and would let them graze while he went and surfed! It was pretty humorous.

Sand crab.

Mmmm. Ice cream with nutella;)

We had a blast with family and wished it could've been longer. We ended up staying one more night at a hotel just around the corner from where we were staying. It had a pool and spa and that's pretty much what we did the rest of our time there. The kids loved it.

Evelyn ready for some pool fun.

Noel and Sam in the hotel also ready for swimming.
We ate dinner at a place called Klondike Pizza.
We were greeted by a rooster on our way out.
Selfies with the rooster.

Recently, I was nursing Evelyn on the couch while helping Noel with her homework. I was so tired and was falling asleep quickly so I warned Noel I may be of no help to her pretty soon and told her everything that she needed to do to finish her homework. When I woke up, I found this note on the counter. Which reads, "Dear mom as you can see I cleaned up for you while you were asleep. And I even wrote the words down. Love, Noel" (then she wrote the words down that she needs to practice spelling for her homework). She also left me a chocolate kiss. I sure love that girl.
Chicks are getting bigger!
Sam made this nest at preschool with a bird made out of a plastic egg. He was so proud of it.
My parents came into town again for a short while and we all had lunch at Emilie and Ben's house for lunch one day. Here's my parents with the 3 youngest grandkids. All born within the last 9 months. Tate, Remi and Evelyn.
Mowing the lawn for the first time this year.
Hanging out at Noel's soccer game.
Noel has improved a lot this year in soccer and has become a little more aggressive. It's so fun to watch her play.
Holding the chicks.
Cute lil' Evelyn.
Noel's soccer games have been cold a lot of the time. Here she is zipped up in Morgan's jacket.
Last weekend we hauled leftover sod and a bunch of other yard waste out of our yard and to the dump.
Evelyn chilling while we working in the backyard.
The trampoline provided some good shade for her as well.
Progress on the garden area. Next step, get rid of the rest of the weeds, grass, and tree stump (not quite in the picture) and till the ground.
Sam helping out. He loves helping with the yard work.
To celebrate Easter that night we made Resurrection Rolls a.k.a. Empty Tomb Rolls for dessert...
...and decorated Easter eggs with a fun new gadget, the Egg Spinner.
The kids had fun waking up to the candy and eggs that the Easter Bunny hid around our living room.

Such a lil' lady.
Dressed in their Easter best.
Noel lovin' her lil' sister. She is so good with her.
So we celebrated Easter with family at our place and I totally forgot to take a picture of everyone. My bad. We had ham, potatoes, rolls and fruit and veggie salads. This is what I made for dessert.
