More happenings in the Young life

So here we have some irony that I came across the other day that I thought I would share. I've been there too often with my car on the back of a tow truck or in the shop. I feel for these people. But you have to admit that it's ironic that their license plate says "NVRBRKN".
Noel got her hair cut. It was well overdue. Brushing her hair became quite the chore and both she and I didn't like me doing it so, we got it chopped off and I love it and what's even better, she loves it too, and she doesn't mind me doing her hair as much! There are less tangles and it takes less time to do!

 It's a long bob...a.k.a. a lob and it's too cute on her.
Here are the kids playing in the rain in their water shoes.
Morgan decided to run around in it as well and took Evelyn along for the ride.
 Me and my little buddy.
So Noel's last few soccer games were pretty darn cold. So I bundled Evelyn up in a couple footie type outfits to keep her warm.
So we have had some backyard projects going on and the kids are catching on. They set up this sign while playing the other day. It was too cute. "Bricks for sale some for free! If you can't get them and you want them we have delivery trucks to deliver it to you."
The kids have been so helpful with our backyard projects. It's fun to let the chickens free range while working out there.

Wow, this seems like forever ago. We thought the chicks were big then. Obviously now they are even bigger, almost full grown! It's crazy how fast they grow! They are about 3 months old now. In this picture they were about 6ish weeks old I'd say. Hopefully they will start laying eggs in the next 1-3 months.
 Sam helping his Dad.
 The gals on the trampoline.
 Silly Sam.
So we have a big area that is just dirt in our backyard where the sod was removed, that will eventually become a patio and fire pit. After it rains or if the sprinklers hit that area, if you peek outside at night, you see Night Crawlers/Earthworms all over the place. I never realized that they were called Night Crawlers for that reason.
Ok, so when I mentioned that some of Noel's soccer games were cold, this one in particular was REALLY cold, like in the 30's. So I bundled Evelyn up a little more than before. She looked so cute and silly!
Sam's preschool teacher had mentioned to me that he talked about our chicks a lot during class so she invited me to bring them. So I did and Sam loved showing them to his classmates.
Our first of many deliveries of landscaping materials for our backyard projects. This was gravel that was being delivered for part of our chicken coop pad and the shed pad. The kids get so excited for each delivery.
The beginning of hauling the gravel.
It is really difficult managing a baby while doing these projects in the backyard, especially when she always wants to be held. Sometimes it works out to put her in her stroller and give her a cracker to suck on.
 Letting the chicks play.
Gravel pad down. Setting up the coop.
 My man hard at work.
Hammering nails into boards, just for fun.
The coop was finished! Onto the run.

Chicken coop and run complete. It turned out way cool, but we realized that it was a lot smaller than we thought so we will eventually have to expand at least the chicken run.
After a long days of work outside we ordered Domino's pizza. This was actually the first time we ordered pizza to have it delivered. The kids were SO EXCITED!
Chilling in the backyard on the Sabbath with his ice cold lemon water in one hand and a chicken sitting on his lap. I call this picture, "living the dream".... hahaha.
 Hanging out.
Went for a Sunday walk. We sure live in a beautiful place.
Evelyn sometimes will fall asleep while I nurse her and on this particular day I looked down and realized how big she was getting. She is growing so fast I can't keep up. I sure love this little girl.
Morgan and Sam went on the annual Father and Son's Camp Out. They had a blast.
We had a girls night and went and got pizza and fries (Noel's wishes) and watched the movie Trolls.

Evelyn has been sticking her tongue out the side of her mouth a lot lately. It's really cute.
Hanging out...so is Evelyn's tongue again:)-
On this particular Saturday we moved gravel into the shed pad area. Then a cool thunderstorm came. We sure enjoy those!
Here's the shed area, almost filled completely. Later this evening it was completely filled.
Preparing the side of the yard for the garden. Morgan is a pro at rerouting sprinklers.
 Happy lil' Evelyn.
 Our three wonderful kiddos.
Noel came home with this piece of artwork she made at school that she did all by herself.
We went to Chris and Kareena's for Family Home Evening a while back. Emilie and Ben were there with their kids and we had a lesson and did S'mores. Most of the crew went on a hike afterwards. The view from their home is beautiful.
 And the sunset was breathtaking.
Sam at one of his Tball practices.
 Little sweet Evelyn.
Sam went on a field trip to Hee Haw Farms in Pleasant Grove. I wasn't able to attend but his teacher texted me the next 2 pictures.
Petting a baby goat. I'm impressed. He said it took a little while to be brave enough but he did it.
Burning the midnight oil (ok, so it was only 10pm), readying the garden area. Morgan is such a hard worker. He spent many evenings trying to prep the area for the garden.
We attended the annual School Carnival Fundraiser and the kids had a blast. The kids actually climbed the rock wall they had there. They went as far as they could and it was even their idea to try it!

Noel got her face painted.
Sam wanted to try climbing the rock wall again. I was so proud of him.

Weed cloth down. Garden boxes set up. Irrigation lines installed. Now for the dirt.
Dirt in. Almost half of the bark placed around the garden boxes.
Most of the bark was down but we still needed to get rid of the stump before it was all complete.
Just before Sam's first Tball game!
At his first game. Running to 3rd Base.
When Sam is nervous and self conscious he smiles sheepishly and shrugs his shoulders a little. It's really cute. There was a lot of that during the first and second games. He is definitely getting the hang of it and fielding the ball better, batting better and understanding the concept a little better.
Just before Mother's Day Weekend, we had some cold nights. Two mornings in a row we woke up to a dusting of snow.

Grandma and Grandpa Young came for a visit for a few days. We had a blast!

Bubbles in the backyard.
Crafts with Grandma.
Sam graduated from preschool and will be moving on to Kindergarten this fall. I'm so glad we did 2 years of preschool for him. He is more than ready.
Smiling at the camera.

We are so glad Grandma and Grandpa were able to be there for his graduation.

Sam and his preschool teacher, Miss Heidi. She was so wonderful!
More T-ball. Sam is up to bat.

Evelyn likes to suck on the inside of her lips and sometimes in the mornings she is pretty smiley. So with those two things combined it made this adorable jolly picture of Evelyn one morning.
Sam playing with a little girl from his preschool while waiting for Noel to get out of school. It was too cute to watch them. I was told she has a crush on Sam.
Some fun dark clouds heading our way. I love those random thunderstorms we get here and there.
Noel's last day of 1st Grade. Where does the time go. Our kids are growing up too fast!
Morgan has been busy in the yard with one thing or another. He finally had a good chunk of time to remove the tree stump that was near the garden.
Tree stump out... check!
Here is a picture of what it looks like without the tree stump and the rest of the bark around the garden beds with everything planted.
Cute lil' Evelyn.
Evelyn had her 9 month check up (even though she was a couple days away from being 10 months old). She is still cruising along in the 25th percentile as far as growth goes. She still isn't crawling but it didn't concern the doctor because she seems to be developing normally and well in all other areas. She just rolls around all over place. She does get up on her hands and knees often and will rock back and forth. So hopefully soon she will be crawling. But otherwise, she laughs a lot, she is also warming up to other people besides her mom and dad and siblings, likes to clap, she is still sleeping through the night most of the time, she naps maybe a few times a week or so now!! and she is still attached to my hip a lot of the time. We love her and are grateful she is in our family!
When I fold clothes Evelyn loves to help.
Splash pad fun!
Sam had a birthday party with his friends a few weekends ago. I actually sent out this picture with him holding the invitation as the invite. He is turning 6 this week! I can't believe it's been 6 years since this handsome, goofy, polite, sweet and kind kid was born. He's such a good boy. We love him and are grateful it was Heavenly Father's plan for him to be in our lives. He has brought such joy into our lives.
His Monster Truck birthday cake.

We played pin the license plate on the monster truck. Morgan made it himself! He is so creative!
Setting up for his birthday party.
Our pretty lil' Evelyn. Sure love that blue eyed blonde haired baby.

Playing Pin the License Plate on the Monster Truck.

Here's the gang. Say "Monster truck!"
Tires on a string (a.k.a. donuts on a string).
Opening presents.
I forgot to get a picture of the kids painting. But they used little monster trucks to paint with.
Cake and ice cream. Yum!
I committed the crime below. I killed this Queen Meat Bee yeseree. And because I killed this Queen Meat Bee, about 1,000 meat bees will die...[insert evil laugh here]. I took a picture to text to my husband at work who was so proud of me:)
The kids and I attended "Community Kindness Kick-Off" at the Spanish Fork Library. Flynn Rider from "Tangled", Anna from "Frozen", Violet or Vi from "The Incredibles", and Spiderman were all there teaching the children how to be kind. The kids had fun.
They have a cool rose garden at the Spanish Fork Library that the kids wanted to pose in.
Sam officially turned 6 years old and I made him the traditional birthday cake pancakes for breakfast. Yum!
On his birthday the kids played outside with the sprinkler under the trampoline.

 The chickens are getting HUGE!
 Opening up presents that evening.
Noel wanted to get Sam a gift with her own money for his birthday. She was so excited to give it to him. Love these two.
 Then there's cutie patootie Evelyn.

Noel started a dance class in Springville. It's a Ballet/Jazz Combo class. She has had 2 classes so far and she is loving it.
Sam is finishing up his Tball season next week. Noel knows one of the kids on Sam's team from school and they chase each other around during the games sometimes. Here she's chasing him.
Now she is getting chased! Haha. She is growing up too fast and I hope this picture isn't a foreshadowing of things to come. I was telling her how pretty she was the other day and told her that if any boy ever tells her how pretty or cute she is to just smack em'! She was a little confused. Haha.
 Sam on first base.
Last weekend we went to Mikey's house to help with loading up a dumpster with stuff that has collected in his front yard from all of the many projects that he's been working on the past half year or so. Ems and Ben were there as well. Here are the 3 men dancing on top of the garbage in the dumpster. It was hilarious.
We celebrated Sam's birthday with family this last Sunday evening. Here are the kiddos eating their cake under the trampoline.
Finally, here are some pictures of some finished projects in our backyard. Our vegetable garden is complete and planted. We just need to put up a fence around it now because the chickens love to chew on the plants.
Here is the shed pad. We finished this a while back but I never put any pictures up of it.
Morgan created these garden beds up against the house and last weekend we planted some flowers in them. I have to say that I really enjoy planting plants and beautifying the yard and our home.
The flower bed on the other side of the house.
I got a few cavities filled this last week and Noel drew this picture of me smiling with half of a numb face. It was so funny I had to share.
Another dance class. Noel is loving it.
There you have it!
