CALIFORNIA

We took a week and a half long trip to CA recently. We visited each set of parents, Morgan and I took a trip to Pismo Beach, CA while Grandma and Grandpa Watkins and Grandma and Grandpa Young took care of the kiddos and we then attended Morgan's uncles wedding. It was beautiful! Noel got to be the flower girl. It was so fun. Enjoy the pics.

On our way to CA we decided to take a little risk and try to make it all the way to Winnemucca, NV on one tank of gas. We barely made it:)
Our hotel was alongside a cliff with the ocean just below. Our hotel had private access to a small beach just below the hotel. We took a walk down to that beach right when we arrived at the hotel.
 Kissy picture:)

 The first evening.

We took a little walk the first night.
We went jogging the next morning and took a walk on the beach. I collected some shells.

Our pelican friend on the pier.

One of the shops in Pismo Beach sells worms and crickets (yes, they are dead) and they also sell chocolate covered worms and crickets. I thought that was very uniquely disgusting so I had to take a picture.
There was a place that we ended up going to twice because it was AMAZING! It is called Penny's All American Cafe. This is my very pleased husband. He got a tri-tip sandwich.
We went to "Bubblegum Alley" in San Luis Obispo before dinner one evening. We went and bought some bubble gum and contributed to it's bubblegum art.

It was a pretty nasty wall.
We had a bubblegum blowing contest in the car.

We visited the tourist town called Solvang, a Dutch town. We visited the Hans Christian Anderson museum. This is a statue of Hans Christian Anderson's head.
 I was telling him secrets.
One of the things on my bucket list for this trip was to ride a surrey. And lo and behold, it had "fringe on the top"! My husband was so sweet in letting us do this for an hour through the town of Solvang. He really didn't want to do it but he said he'd do it because that is how much he loves me:) I love that man! It was the best part of the trip for me. I loved it! We found out later that it was over 100 degrees that day, which made a lot of sense because it was sooo hot!
 Kissy picture:)
We went to a Museum of Art.
I absolutely LOVE this picture. You should try to zoom up close and see the look on Morgan's face. I love how he just sports the surrey.

We went on a couple walks on the beach. It was bliss.
This was a fun little vehicle from an Italian restaurant. Had to take a picture.
We went swimming a couple of times and sunbathed. It was perfect.
The night before we left we played tennis. This is Morgan spiffin' up the clay courts after we were finished.
Morgan got his sushi before we left town.
Just before we left town we went on a subsea tour. It was a 45 minute tour in Morro Bay on a small boat in the bay that we were able to go downstairs in the boat and see the sea life (or lack of) through windows. We didn't see anything! But it was fun anyways.

After we got back we attended Morgan's Uncle's wedding. Noel got her hair done just before the ceremony because she was the flower girl for the wedding.
The finished product. Our little princess!

This is what she wore for the wedding. She was just adorable:)

Noel with Grandma Young. Grandma Young looked stunning:) She was the Maid of Honor in the wedding.
Noel with Grandpa Young. He was the officiator of the wedding.

Morgan's brother Brian was there for the wedding as well.  Here is a great picture of Sam with his Uncle.
 Morgan and Sam.
I LOVE  this picture of my in-laws. They are such a beautiful couple.
 This one too:)
More fun pics of our little flower girl.

 The Young men.
Morgan and Brian. I love this pic.

This one is a great photo too.
We had such a great time on this trip. It was so good to see everyone and spend time with family members we hadn't seen in a long time. Thank you soooo much Mom and Dad and Mary and Gary for taking care of the kids while we were gone!! We really appreciate it!

All in all the trip was AMAZING! That's all:)
