Since Morgan was in between employment, finishing with Goldman Sachs and starting up today with a new company, we tried to get in some good Family Time. Earlier this week we went bowling.
And then we went to the Bean Museum on the BYU Campus.
I took the kids to a program on the BYU campus where they learned about clothing. There is a new exhibit in the museum where the program is held where there are costumes that actors and actresses have worn in in certain movies, such as Johnny Depp's costume in Pirates of the Carribean as well as Keira Knightley's.
Noel got to dress up as a pirate. Sam didn't want to.
She also got to dress up as an artist.
The kids got to make some fun crafts as well.
Morgan went fishing with my brother Chris earlier this week. They both caught some fish and brought them home. They had a good time.
Morgan made a friend...
...and they became quite close. :)
Mmmmm. Fish!
We stuck them in the oven as soon as he got home:)
My brother Mikey came over for a visit this week. He came bearing gifts as he had just returned from a vacation to Mexico. The kids couldn't wait to open their eyes!
WARNING: THERE IS A PICTURE COMING UP THAT IS KIND OF YUCKY.
Just last night Sam was playing with a plastic bow and arrow set. He really liked how the arrows would stick to the window/front door. So he was running at the window with the arrow in his hand, and stuck it on there but didn't stop running. The plastic tubular end struck the white part of his eye and inside of his lower eyelid. After it initially happened, he cried for a few minutes and after 5-10 minutes was playing like normal, but his eye was kind of puffy and he was blinking kind of weird. So we checked around on his eye and found this... (it is gross, just warning you.)
You can see where the end of the arrow got him, there's a small circular wound.
It was one of these arrows. This isn't the particular one but the end that stuck him was like this, just longer to start with and broke in half after he ran into it.
A neighbor came over to help with a Priesthood Blessing and then I took him to the Emergency Room. At the ER the doctor said that he did indeed injure the white of his eye as well as the inner part of his lower eye lid but that it all should heal on it's one. The inner eye lid will heal quickly. The white part of his eye will take a few weeks or so, he said. He also said the biggest risk is an infection which we have antibiotics/eye drops for now, just in case that happens.
He's sitting on the doctors chair in the ER holding the vary arrow that injured his poor little eye. That arrow has since been thrown away. Our little man is such a trooper.
