EASTER and SPRING BREAK

The Friday before Easter, Morgan's work had an Easter Egg Hunt for all the employees kids at a park in Orem.

Easter Morning.

Haha. You gotta love Evelyn's expression.

Making Empty Tomb Rolls for Easter Breakfast.

While eating his Empty Tomb Roll Sam lost his tooth!
Evelyn's cheesy grin.
The day after Easter we began Spring Break by traveling to Carlsbad, CA to go to Legoland. On our way there, we stopped in St. George to get our wiggles out and went on a little hike to see some dinosaur tracks.

Here's the crew standing next to a few dinosaur tracks.
So cool!
More hiking.

Getting all of the red dirt out of their shoes.
We are so grateful for portable dvd players for long car rides.
Noel holding Evelyn's hand to comfort her.
Upon arriving at the hotel, Evelyn found her swim diapers and was walking around the hotel room with one on her head.
Here we are at Legoland!

Morgan, Noel and Sam on their first ride.
Me and the kids on another ride.
Airplane ride.
The kids really loved this one and the butterflies they got in their tummies as it would drop.
Family boat ride.
Evelyn was so tired and took a snooze on the boat.
Mt. Rushmore lego style.
Driving in their own little cars.

Firetruck ride.

The helicopter ride.

That was the end of our first day in Carlsbad and at Legoland.
On a whim, on the second day, we decided to go to the San Diego Zoo. We are so glad we did!

Riding the sky tram (a.k.a. Skyfari) with Noel.
Morgan and Sam were in front of us.
Evelyn and me.

Morgan took a turn with the gals.
And I got to ride with Sam.
The bug exhibit was pretty neat. Sam is posing with a stick bug.

Beautiful bird.

A hummingbird.

Posing with a giant lizard.
We saw huge turtles.

Alligators.

Here is a funny looking monkey.
A scary baboon.
I got a picture of him yawning...um...YIKES!
Hippos.
Gorillas.

Chimpanzees.

Eating lunch.

We saw lions. Dontcha love the "Caution" sign? Haha.
I got a picture of the lion yawning too!
Elephants.
Camels.
A cheetah.
A cute lil' koala.
Zebras.
Bears!
Catchin' a ride on a really cool escalator.
Playing on a playground of "ice".

Polar bear!

For our last adventure at the zoo we caught the last double decker bus ride of the day.

On our way back to our hotel that night we drove past the San Diego Temple.
The next day we went back to Legoland to use up our 2 day pass. There was so much to see and do that we are glad we got the 2 day pass.
We went to the Sea Life Aquarium at Legoland.

The kids got to touch some sea life.

The kids in the shark cage.
Haha. This was taken after Sam had a fit of some sort. Hence the sad face.
Digging up fossils in a sand pit.
We took another little boat ride.

Evelyn and I went on a little train ride.
She loved it.
Morgan with Chewbacca in lego form.
Me with an ewok.
Morgan with his BFF Darth, in lego form of course.
We saw a short lego film in 4D, so along with watching the film in 3D with the special glasses we experienced water spraying/splashing on us as well as wind. It was pretty neat.
For our last day in Carslbad we went and hung out at the beach. Noel loves playing in the waves and water and whenever we have gone to the beach she dances and jumps and skips around in it. It's the most adorable thing. I just love it.

Sam spent most of his time playing in the sand and building a sand castle and mote.

Lil' Miss Evelyn hated the feel of the sand on her feet and just cried and cried. It was so weird. So besides the time she spent with Morgan walking up to the water, she was with me under our beach tent.

Building the sand castle.
Hanging out in the tent.

The finished product.
Our hotel happened to be right next to Benihana's. Morgan ordered a small tray of sushi "to go" on our last day. He was in heaven.
Happy Morgan.
Our hotel had a pool and hot tub so we were able to go a couple times during our stay.
Hanging out in the hot tub.
Hanging out in our hotel room.
We found our favorite restaurant, Texas Roadhouse, nearby and went there for dinner on our last evening.

Our hotel room had 2 rooms. A room for the kids with a bunk bed and a separate room for Morgan and I. It was so nice.

We had so much fun during Spring Break. This was definitely a much needed vacation.
